DOE Strengthens U.S. Medical Isotope Supply Chains by Offering Radium-226 Processing and Purification Services

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Isotope R&D and Production (IRP) is launching a new effort to support industry in accessing radium‑226 (Ra‑226). IRP has established specialized capabilities to process and purify Ra‑226 recovered from legacy material, generating high‑quality feedstock for the production of radioisotopes used in medical applications.

Organizations that possess, or have contractual access to, unprocessed or unpurified Ra‑226 and require specialized processing assistance can contact the National Isotope Development Center (NIDC). Please provide information describing your material and your processing needs.
