DOE Isotope Program HQ Open Position –Federal Program Manager for Stable Isotope Operations

The Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science (SC) is filling a position for the Isotope R&D and Production Office. The position will function as a program manager for Stable Isotope Operations. The position is located in Germantown, Maryland and is open to all U.S. Citizens.

Duties include: 

  • Manage and coordinate the operations of stable isotope enrichment capabilities at laboratories, including program and strategic planning, budget formulation, cost effectiveness, and performance of isotope enrichment initiatives and related instrumentation.
  •  Determine scientific focus and direction of stable isotope enrichment projects and instrumentation in relation to the DOE Isotope Program mission, including calls for proposals, independent peer reviews, funding allocations, Principal Investigator meetings, liaison on committees, and scientific progress of the program.
  • Examine the effectiveness and operations of the stable isotope enrichment capabilities against scientific and technological advances and of potential needs of the organization. Select and ascertain the qualifications and suitability of peer reviewers.
  • Prepare, justify, and support budget relating to the operations of stable isotope enrichment capabilities, upgrades, and related instrumentation.
  • Develop and prepare analytical documents to communicate with senior management of DOE and higher echelons of the government on the status of a broad range of isotope science and stable isotope enrichment capabilities.
