Introduction to US Department of Energy Isotope Program and Opportunities
The US Department of Energy Office of Isotope R&D and Production (DOE IP) is pleased to invite representatives from US Minority Serving Institutions to a virtual townhall discussion to discuss planned funding opportunities related to undergraduate and graduate workforce development and R&D in isotope science. Academic institutions with programs or interests in physics, chemistry, materials science and engineering, nuclear engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, and other STEM related fields are encouraged to attend regardless of previous interactions with DOE IP.
While Federal Regulations prohibit the discussion of specifics with respect to planned unpublished Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs), the DOE IP intends to describe similar ongoing efforts, and its programmatic priorities and objectives with respect to workforce development.
The DOE IP is fully committed to fostering safe, diverse, equitable, and inclusive work, research, and funding environments that value mutual respect and personal integrity. Inclusive workplaces that value and celebrate a diversity of people, ideas, cultures, and educational backgrounds are foundational to delivering on the DOE IP mission. Minority Serving Institutions interested in working with the DOE IP are strongly encouraged to attend.
Recipients of this email are encouraged to consider other faculty at their institution and external collaborators who might be interested and forward this email accordingly.
