The DOE Isotope Program is pleased to announce increased availability of high-specific activity actinium-227 (Ac-227). Material will be available in June 2022.
The DOE Isotope Program is the only global producer of actinium-227 (half-life 21.772 years to thorium-227). This isotope has garnered considerable interest in the medical community for its use as a generator of shorter-lived radioisotopes being investigated as cancer-fighting agents.
The isotope is produced in the High Flux Isotope Reactor at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, then chemically separated, purified, and packaged for shipment. If interested in purchasing Ac-227, visit the product catalog to view product specifications and request a quote.
