The Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science (SC) is filling a position for the Isotope R&D and Production Office. The position will function as a program manager for Accelerator Isotope Facilities. The position is located in Germantown, Maryland and is open to all U.S. Citizens.

Duties include:

  • Manage and coordinate the operations of isotope production accelerator facilities at universities and laboratories, including program and strategic planning, budget formulation, cost effectiveness, performance of facilities, projects and accelerator facility-related instrumentation.
  • Apply scientific focus and direct isotope production and processing projects in relation to the DOE Isotope Program mission, including calls for proposals, independent peer reviews, funding allocations, Principal Investigator meetings, liaison on committees, and scientific progress of the program.
  • Examine the effectiveness and operations of the isotope accelerator production and chemical processing facilities against scientific and technological advances and of potential needs of the organization. Select and ascertain the qualifications and suitability of peer reviewers.
  • Prepare budget and support relating to accelerator isotope production and processing facility operations, improvement projects, and facility-related instrumentation.
  • Develop and prepare analytical documents to communicate with senior management of DOE and higher echelons of the government on the status of a broad range of isotope science and isotope accelerator facility operations.
